FAQs
What is Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeship is an Earn While You Learn model, meaning you work on the job while earning your paycheck and your On the Job Training (OJT) hours while attending school. The goal is to create a workforce that is knowledgeable, skilled and experienced in the trades.
Do I Need to Have Construction Experience to Apply?
No! Apprenticeship is paid learning and training. You will learn the necessary job skills through your OJT and your school work.
Do I Need to Have a Job Before Starting School?
No! While we strongly encourage you to find employment as an apprentice as soon as possible in order to start earning your OJT hours, it is not required to have an apprenticeship in order to receive schooling.
How Do I Apply?
Call 860-529-5886 and ask to speak with the Director of Education. You will need to set-up a tour of the school before you will be provided with an application. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Can I Receive Prior Credit?
That depends. If you have prior schooling that may apply, you will need to submit your transcript to the Director of Education for review.
When Does School Start?
School begins in September and ends in May each year.
