About CEC

The Construction Education Center, Inc. is a nonprofit training organization located in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Launched by Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut, Inc. (CT ABC), The Center’s core mission is to provide quality training and education programs in order to advance careers and long-term opportunities in response to construction industry needs and to enhance the quality, safety and competitiveness of constructors within and outside the state.

On January 11, 2007, the Connecticut Commissioner of Higher Education approved The Center to operate a private occupational school in the State of Connecticut. This distinction signifies that The Center is authorized to offer postsecondary training programs in Connecticut. The Connecticut Department of Higher Education regulates and oversees private occupational schools licensed in Connecticut.

All courses provided by The Center are taught by qualified trades people, professionals and/or professors of construction management programs. In addition to apprenticeship in the HVAC, Sheet Metal, Plumbing and Carpentry trades and safety courses, The Center will provide professional development courses including Plan Reading, Site Layout, Site Estimating, Supervisory Training and Planning and Scheduling. The Center also is an approved provider of Continuing Education Unit courses (CEUs) by the State of Connecticut for Licensed Plumbers and Electricians.
